A is for Amy who fell down the stairs
My mom met my dad at grad school at Central Michigan University. They got married and moved to Sitka, Alaska, where I was born Amy Beth Wegner on September 25, 1973. When I was one-and-a-half, they got divorced, and my dad later married Dona. They farm proteas and now anthuriums in Hawaii, and Dona will soon be retiring from her school librarian position in Alaska to move permanently to Hawaii. Mom still lives in Traverse City, Michigan (TC), where I grew up, and where she is a Social Security Disability Examiner.
I have a half-brother, Dan II, who lives downstate somewhere. I also have a half-sister, Michelle, but I haven't seen her since I was 3. She's married and living in Saginaw, Michigan, last I heard. My last grandparent, Grandma Wegner, passed away November 10, 1996. The closest thing I have to a real brother and sister are my cousins, Kelly (a Nail Technician in TC) and Mike (an ME student at Iowa State).
